What's the Scoop? Writing, 2 Step, and a Great Weekend!

Have you checked out The Teaching 2 Step yet?? It is the collaborative blog I am a part of and it is awesome! I have teamed up with several other fantastic teacher bloggers from all over the world and the blog is so much fun and has a TON of great ideas for your classroom.

I just made a post about writing in Kindergarten that you MUST see. Click the image below to check it out!

And click the next image to learn more about the bloggers!

I have been totally enjoying my time with The Teaching 2 Step Gals! Make sure you follow us on Pinterest and like us on Facebook! You'll be glad you did. :)

And, my favorite linky!!!

Yes, that's right... I was all prepared for my awesome Thanksgiving Writing post and my phone wouldn't even turn on today! Looks like I'll be getting my Christmas present early this year... gotta have a phone these days!

I can't wait to make Stone Soup with my kinders tomorrow! I'm bringing my crock pot and my book and we are going to make placemats! I will certainly post some pictures this week!

Does anyone else have to do a book study for professional development? The whole school, even the office staff have to read a book and meet about it a few times a month. I'm really bad about remembering to read the chapters until like the day before... so I'm hoping I can find some time to do that today instead. Crossing my fingers!

Have a great Sunday, ya'll. I have school tomorrow and Tuesday and then a glorious 5 consecutive days off! MUCH needed!

Sunday Scoop and Spotlight

I'm linking up twice today, people! I have been DYING to link up with Brooke over at Countless Smart Cookies for weeks now and I have been so outrageously busy that I haven't been able to! I also was VERY sick last weekend. I didn't even do my usual Sunday Scoop post! In fact, it has been over a week since I posted. I apologize. I was in bed with a fever and it was not pretty. But now that I'm feeling better, it is time to catch up on some blogging fun!

Let's start with the Scoop!

I have a lot on my plate today, folks. I was out sick for a few days last week as mentioned before, and my room is a total wreck. And since last Friday was our Fall Festival, it is in even more of a mess when I shoved everything from the festival back in my room and didn't turn back. But I'll be glad to have a nice night in front of the TV with my hubby and fur babies. <3

AND NOW... The new linky I've been so excited about!!!

Basically, I pick a product in my store to put on sale (YAY!) and "spotlight" it and I pick another teacher blogger to "spotlight" as well!

I decided to spotlight (and put on sale) an oldie but a goodie. I know I have a TON of Thanksgiving resources that my bloggy friends and fellow TpT sellers have created ready to go for this week. But the reality is... Christmas is coming soon as well and it is definitely going to sneak up on me. As much as I'd like to say I'll be prepared... I know it will catch me off guard. It always does! So, to help myself (and you, of course), start to prepare for next month, I'm putting my Christmas math pack on sale this week. These are good print and go activities that are great for morning work or centers! Patterns, glyphs, and dice games make for fun Christmas Math. ;)

Here's a preview for you! Click the images above to go to the download or click HERE.

And for my Teacher Spotlight, I'm spotlighting Brooke herself! The creator of The Sunday Spotlight and her store and blog Countless Smart Cookies!

I chose Brooke because several months ago, I reached out to her as a fellow blogger with some questions and she was SO kind and welcoming. Ever since, we have kept in touch, sharing pins on Pinterest, sharing posts on Facebook, and every now and then sending each other a message. After all, what is teaching without collaboration??

Let me tell you why I reached out to Brooke in the first place.

1) Her store/blog name. Adorbs.

2) I saw on her TpT store that she is from Louisiana. Us southern folk need to stick together!

3) Her products are awesome and very well made.

4) Some of my other blogging friends had liked her on Facebook and I jumped on the band wagon and did so as well.

Check out her store for sure and make sure you follow her blog for all the other awesome Sunday Spotlight posts. I love this part of blogging. The community teachers across the world have created through this form of networking is so amazing and powerful. You are guaranteed to find some fantastic ideas and inspiration for your classroom and students by checking out her blog. Click the image above or follow the links below.

Product Swap with the SUPER Sweet Sounds of Kindergarten!

I know what you are thinking... Amanda! Another giveaway?! But stick with me here, it is SO worth it!

I had the amazing opportunity to link up with Jungle Learners product swap and Kelly over at Sweet Sounds of Kindergarten and I swapped products to use and review. The most fun about this was, we both like superheroes! So we decided to swap our superhero products for our classes! And good news, everyone! Kelly will have her product on sale AND I'll be giving one away at the end of this post! Make sure you enter!!! I loved looking through her store! I had so many ideas and a smile on my face thinking about my class of kinders using her materials. Click the button below to check out Kelly's blog!

Make sure you check out her blog this weekend! She is reviewing and GIVING AWAY a copy of my Superhero Creative Writing Bundle! My bundle will also be on sale this weekend, so snag a copy soon! I know a lot of you have it wishlisted right now!

I chose her Super Sight Words Pack and I loved the versatility of it. I was able to use a lot of the print out for morning work AND centers. Click the picture below to go check out the product in her store (and don't forget, it is on sale right now!).

I started with the "go" sight word sheet for morning work. It was our sight word for the week and I loved the different ways to practice the word. In her pack, there are sheets just like this for 50 words, so there is plenty of practice for your kiddos.

I HAD to include a shot of this kid's "go" sheet. Doesn't have a name on it, so I'm not 100% sure who it belongs to, but I LOVE that it says in the sentence starter section, "I go pote," which translates to "I go potty." On second thought, I'm pretty sure I know which student this is. Regardless, this is a shot of one of the sheets included in the pack and again, there are 50 included!

I then moved on to the sentence sheets. This was kind of hard for some of my students, which I expected, so I used it with some of my higher students in a guided center. They loved it!

(I love the one above! "I can see the Mason." Mason is his best friend... Lol!)

And now... for the class favorite....... the Super Spin and Write! I don't know about your kiddos, but mine LOVE to play games with paper clip spinners! And they are so easy for me to provide to them! I knew when I saw that these were included in the Super Sight Words Pack that Kelly made, I HAD to have them! I used them as a center during our ELA block.

If you've never done the pencil/paper clip spinners before, here's a picture of how it works! Put the pencil in the paperclip and spin! EASY MODE! In this print out, students spin and then write the word they landed on in the space provided. Kelly also provides a Super Spin and Color where you spin, land on a word, and color the picture with the word on it.

This specific kiddo really liked it! LOOK AT THAT FACE!

As mentioned earlier, Kelly's Super Sight Words are on sale this weekend! But if you'd like a chance to win it, enter below!

Daisy Designs Birthday Party DAY TWO!

Wow! Yesterday was exhilarating! Thank you everyone for the warm and kind birthday wishes and all the fun. I spent the day with my kinders who brought me home made cards and some flowers for my desk. And one little girl gave me the yo-yo out of her pocket. I loved every minute of it. I spent the evening being treated by the hubby at dinner. He also went to buy me a new journal and knew my favorite kind (he's good like that) and found that they are going to stop making them... which means that they were all on MEGA MARK DOWN for only $1 each! Being the amazing hubby he is... he bought me all they had. So I am now the proud owner of 24 notebooks/journals, 2 binders, and the new NPH autobiography (which is hilarious and awesome by the way).

HOORAY!

BUT, my birthday did not end with yesterday's setting sun. No way. It's a birthday WEEK celebration! On to DAY TWO!

If you've been eyeing the new word wall packs, now's the time to snag two of them for only $1 each!
